Deciding to take action!

2:16 pm Uncategorized

I have the opportunity to talk to a number of people who are dissatisfied with some aspect of their life.  Often times, it’s a financial situation, a challenging marriage, job burnout or loneliness.  There are things that happen in our lives that we have no control over.  If we had control over our lives we would make sure that everything was bed of roses all the time…but the reality is that we often have to play with the hand we are dealt.

One of the unfortunate things I see is when a person really does have some control, but fails to utilize the control they have.  Instead, they remain depressed about their situation instead of doing what they can do!  Let’s say that a person is experiencing job burnout and they hate getting up going to work.  For them, it’s not just a phase, they are simply unhappy with where they work.  Rather than remain unhappy on a daily basis, start looking for another job!  What if you look in the mirror and are unhappy with the fact that you aren’t in shape and it’s making you unhappy day after day.  Instead of being depressed…join a gym and start working out.  If you are lonely, you don’t necessairly control whether you will find a mate, but you can certainly develop new friendships and get involved in various activities rather than sitting at home…looking at the four walls and complaining about your situation.  Again, do what you can do!

There are some things that you will have to accept that you cannot change.  You must pray and ask God to help you with those life issues.  For the things that you do have some control over, don’t just sit there…take action!!

Thank you for launching this website. It is truly a blessing.

I think many times we as christians just take for granted that God is going to do everything for US. Instead of accepting the responsibility that if we can do what we can, God will do what we can’t.

    Faith without works is dead!

Staying motivated and setting goals while all the while asking God to bless our pursuits if it is in his perfect will is Key.

Seeking God with everything we have is the beginning (the first step). But following through and doing the work of the laborer is also something that we need to practice.

Talk is cheap, Action is Key!

I am dealing with some very tough decisions in my life right now and I feel that fear is preventing me from doing just this. I have been faced with making this decision for sometime and I have been avoiding doin it because it would me that I lose something that I love. I honestly don’t know what to do. Well, let me say that I know what I should do, but I don’t have the courage to do it. I’ve gotten use to how things are and change will definitely put me in unfamiliar territory. I don’t know if this is the right forum to speak like this since most of the other comments have been positive. If I have not followed correct protocol, I apologize. I just need help. Pray for me.
